Team Bayview Towing is a team of like-minded athletes who enjoy achieving their athletic goals by competing and racing in road races, mountain bike races and charity rides. We pursue and advocate a healthy, active lifestyle and promote the sport of cycling and our sponsors.

The team is comprised of approximately 20 individuals whose goals are raising awareness for the Canucks for Kids Fund in support of Canuck Place, to develop and enhance their bike racing skills and to support bicycle racing within the Greater Vancouver area. Some of the riders have enjoyed success in local races and at the provincial level.

For the past seven years, the focus of the group has been the Ride for Hope. This fund-raising endeavor, in support of Canuck Place, has grown considerably since the inaugural event in 2007 and, to date, the team has raised close to $437,000. This continues to be the club's main focus.

2015 brings a slight change to the ride. Due to contractual obligations and a change in sponsorship the name of the ride has been changed to "Ride For The Kids" and the logo has been changed to reflect this. Our deep and heartfelt commitment is, and always remains, to the Children and Families of Canuck Place Children's Hospice.

Jeff Bandura
Team Founder

Jeff Bandura’s (or “Ban Diesel” as he is affectionately referred to by his fellow teammates) cycling resume is quite extensive. It dates back to the 80’s and 90’s, from racing in events like the Test of Metal and Trans Rockies Challenge to participating in charity rides like the Ride2Survive, the Ride For Hope benefitting the Canucks for Kids Fund in support of Canuck Place and most recently the inaugural local Prospera Valley Fondo in 2012.

After completing the second Ride2Survive, Jeff envisioned a ride in support of a local charity, which the average person could complete. Subsequently, he founded the Ride for Hope benefitting Canuck Place in 2007. Being a member of the Vancouver Canucks Alumni, Jeff was able to enlist former Canucks and other NHL alumni to come out and participate in the Ride for Hope.

Jeff continues to be the driving force behind the team and works tirelessly at making the Ride for the Kids a success.
